| The Philosophy Department of Kent State University will
host Peter French on Wednesday March 7, 2007 to speak "On Being Morally
Challenged by Collective Memories".
In it, Peter French starts from a premise that Serbs are rapists and
killers because, according to French, Serbian morality is handicapped by
collective memory that was nurtured in Serbs. In other words, French believes
that Serbs are morally deviant people because of a false collective memory
of their past in Kosovo and as a result of their own delusion have collectively
accepted morality of a rapist and a killer. See
the promotional poster.
Kent State Philosophy Department needs to be told that Peter French
is a liar and his speech needs to be canceled.

Dear David W. Odell-Scott, Chair Philosophy Department Kent State University:
Your upcoming speaker Peter French set to elaborate on "On Being Morally
Challenged by Collective Memories" is based on a faulty premise and is
therefore prejudicial and racist against ethnic Serbs. French claims that
Serbs have a handicaped, ie. deviant morality because of a collective historical
delusion and are therefore rapists, killers and ethnic cleansers.
The facts speak otherwise and here are some of them:
1) Serbs have nurtured collective memories of their lives in an Islamic
Kosovo for 500 years and that life is not a collective delusion but a real
exposure to the Islamic law that turned the blind eye and encouraged abduction
of Christian Serb women, rape
of little Serbian boys while a nonexistent freedom of religion, speech,
dress... was the slavery Christian Serbs had to endure so that, now, Peter
French can claim that all of that is a "challenged" (deviant) collective
memory that makes Serbs deficient in their morals.
For a scholar Peter French pretends to be, it is incredible that he
chooses to miss the enormous literature that exists on this. Mr. French
is thus deliberately choosing to propagate untruth. To build a theory of
ethics on lies, as French attempts here, is itself immoral.
2) During Kosovo war there were no organized, collective raping of Albanian
women by Serbs. There are numerous accounts of that. Peter French claims
contrary to what accounts state so, again, Peter French is deliberately
endorsing something that is not true and uses this lie to build his supportive
structure to his already faulty claims.
3) Peter French refers to ethnic cleansing of Kosovo and ascribes the
role of the cleanser to the Serbs and the victimhood to the "Kosovar" Albanians.
The truth again is the other way around. Statistics speak for themselves:
Since 1999 when French's "Kosovars" took over the province, over 200,000
non-Muslim non-Albanians have been expelled out of the province, over 150
churches, some testaments to the Western civilization in that region, burned
to the ground; countless other churches have been looted; Christian Serb
population is under daily violence, intimidation and threats by the "Kosovars"
while bombings and assassinations are a daily routine of survival in that
province.
I request that you cancel Peter French's engagement and not allow the
stature of your University and your Philosophy Department to be marred
by prejudicial and false claims of a professor that is a visitor to your
fine educational establishment.
Sincerely,
