Death to gays posters appear in Bosnia

Bosnian Muslim Liberal Democratic Party has issued a statement condemning posters that have appeared all across Bosnian Muslim territory calling for death to homosexuals. "A call to murder of people because of their sexual orientation can not be a deed of anyone who represents themselves as defenders of faith and religious doctrines," says the Party. The posters have appeared after Bosnian Muslim homosexual community announced that it plans a march in Sarajevo later in September. The party also wants the Bosnian Muslims to change the current law which allows anyone to have sex with 14-year old children.

Serbia military to sign NATO agreement

Serbia will sign a military agreement with NATO in September on non-disclosure of military secrets and proper protection of such intelligence says Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac. Sutanovac also noted that later in the month a new class of Serbian Army lieutenants will graduate and hopes that the Chinese Army General Chief of Staff will attend in an initiative to broaden military cooperation with the two nations.

Bosnian Muslims erasing Serb returnees

The Association for the Return of Serbs to the Federation of Bosnia says that of 527 settlement inhabited originally by Serbs in the Muslim-Croat Federation not a single building has been renovated and that maps by the Muslim-Croat Federation do not even mark these Serb areas as existing. If 62 settlements that Serbs have returned, there is no electricity, work, pension or health care. Serbs in those areas do not have a right to use their own cyrillic alphabet. The largest ethnic cleansing of Serbs has been committed in Sarajevo where there remain only 7,000 from a population of 160,000. Streets in Sarajevo are being painted Islamic green.

Serb-EU central banks sign agreement

Serbian central bank has signed a cooperation protocol with the European Central Bank, the European Agency for Reconstruction and a European Commission in Serbia to help it reach European banking standards. European Union will spend 400,000 Euros on analyzing Serbia's central bank needs in the areas of "areas of bank supervision, harmonization of regulations with European Union legislation, liberalization of capital movements, implementation of monetary policy and the foreign exchange rate regime, monetary, financial and payment balance statistics and financial service consumer protection.

Serbia extends greetings to Muslims on Ramadan

Serbian President Boris Tadic offered his greetings on the occasion of the Islamic holiday. "I wish you to spend the forthcoming holidays in the surrounding of your family and in the spirit of happiness, peace and joy," reads the greeting of President Tadic. Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic also offered his greetings to Muslims in Serbia on their Islamic holiday Ramadan. "I wish you a happy holiday with hopes that in future we will respect the tradition, cherish tolerance and live together in peace as we have done so far," said Cvetkovic.

Albanian leader warns Serbia of destabilization

Lone Albanian representative in Serbian Parliament Riza Halimi has warned the government that recently issued order that does not recognize degrees issued by the so-called University of Pristina as a "big problem" that will destabilize the region. Halimi demands that the issue of diplomas gets reversed "Otherwise, there will be big problems and the situation will start to destabilize and all of its consequences". In the aftermath of NATOs attack on Serbia in order to make Kosovo province "independent" Albanians in the southern region that Halimi represents went on an armed uprising shooting and killing police and soldiers and demanding that the region gets annexed by Kosovo.

Serbia to ratify Russia gas deal

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said said that "Serbian government is in full consensus" and will ratify the gas deal signed between Serbia and Russia despite objections that the deal undervalues Serbian gas company that Russia will buy. Russia has interpreted those objections as a plan for Serbia to back out of the deal. Cvetkovic asserted that there will be no backing out and the government will honor its signature.

Serb general urges stability

Serbian Army Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Zdravko Ponos said that although Kosovo independence was a precedent for decapitation of Georgia, Serbia is interested in stabilizing the Balkan region and will not allow escalation of any tension. "Nothing that cools down the relations between superpowers such as the United States and Russia is good for the countries such as Serbia and everything that looks like the Cold War between the superpowers is not good for us," Ponos said. Ponos said that nobody should boast that Serbia's warnings that Kosovo will destabilize other regions of the world came to be true.

FYROM recognition of Kosovo to have serious effects

If Macedonia recognizes Kosovo, its relations with Serbia will be seriously affected, Serbian Ambassador in Skopje Zoran Popovic said in an interview with Macedonian A1 television reports Tanjug "We expect that Macedonia will keep its neutral position towards this issue, he pointed out. India seeks business with Serbia

Indian Ambassador to Serbia Ajay Swarup visited Serbian city of Zrenjanin where he said that India is interested in bringing technology and expertise in pharmaceuticals, chemistry and the textile industry to Serbia. "Greater possibilities for cooperation exist in the fields of agriculture and refining agricultural products," Ambassador said. Mayor of the city says that the visit marks the beginning of intensive cooperation between India and Serbia.
