Protests against UN, EU in Kosovo planned
Protests against the deployment of the EU mission to Kosovo is scheduled for Wednesday and planners expect the rally to be peaceful.
“We are not against the international community, but we don’t want them to deal with Serbia but with us, and we don’t want them to rule over the institutions and the people of Kosovo,” says Albin Kurti, leader of an extremist Albanian group called Vet?vendosja.
Protest organizers have called on the Albanian protesters to act in a civilized fashion.
The separatist leadership in Kosovo has rejected the EU-brokered UN plan claiming that the “plan endangers the Republic of Kosovo as an independent, democratic, sovereign and united country”.
Only a handful of nations have recognized Kosovo’s illegal declaration of independence and the action will soon be ruled by the World Court.
The leader of the once thought to be disbanded terrorist group, the KLA, has warned the UN and the EU over the weekend that a war may erupt because they do not agree with the will of the international community.
“We have told the international community that we will not yield and we will use all methods if these points are adopted by the Security Council,” said Xhavit Jashari, leader of the Association of Families of Martyrs, a front group for the KLA.
Former so-called prime minister of Kosovo who was involved in ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Croatia, Agim Ceku, warned that the international community is no longer working in the interest of the separatists.
“Some of our international friends are no longer working for the interests of the people of Kosovo. Their sole focus now is the presence of the international community,” Agim Ceku said.
Separatist paper Epoka e Re reported over the weekend that the chief of the UN mission in Kosovo, Lamberto Zannier, has not been seen.
“Zannier is not in Kosovo this week,” said the UN spokesman but provided no details as to what sort of meetings is he attending.
Zannier helped in the drafting of the six points of the United Nations.
On Friday, a bomb was thrown in the offices of the EU representative in Kosovo.
The Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts comprised of Kosovo Albanian separatists blame the “UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon [who] can hurt Kosovo?s independence and sovereignty” and urged “rejection of the six-point plan.”
Separatist paper, Koha Ditore, claimed this morning that an agreement for the deployment of EULEX could be reached soon between Pristina and Brussels.
U.S. diplomat Daniel Fried has been dispatched to Pristina for additional talks with the separatists.

I wouldn’t call the majority of Western countries recognizing Kosovo as “only a handful.” And in regard to illegality, well you can rant as much as you want but it wont change a thing.
Furthermore, the despicable racist bigotry displayed by Serbs is nothing but a revelation of their inherent nature and genocidal tendencies. In regards to protesting, we all know what Serbs have done so please tend to your gardens before you look into ours.

Read recent Millibands comments about Georgia, and compare them to the comments he made in Ukraine and other places. Blerton, there was no battlefield.., our state – Milosevic better say was not willing to go to the end, unfortunately.. This was never called battlefield, this is something you must know, first of all. It was ACTION on mid scale from Serb side and also (to be honest) mid scale bombing from the NATO side. Than it followed a “coyote” intrusion from your side with ALL NATO support at the moment our forces were in retreat – UNFORTUNATELY! There’s no battlefield between us and it wasn’t ever! If it was something, whatever- it was between Serbia and NATO forces.
And.., if you think different – than you don’t know the bases of modern warfare and of course – you was not there, ever!

It’s sad and tragic to hear the british citizens speak of something which they know nothing of. Today’s world needs human leaders and human solutions. unfortunately, my nation has been treated inhumnaly (including a lot of small other nations in the world) for two centuries now. Massacres by serbs in north albania beginning of 20th century (read history about killing thousands of albanians including children with knives!), repression, prisoning, rapes, genocide at the end of the 20th century! If you think you can lay a hand on albanians again, you’re not only dumb, but a very dangerous human individual, in other words antihuman, in other words, animal.
It’s just very very sad to see british citizens promoting fascist ideologies of blood-thirsty barbarian serbs.

Ok blerton, Is that why for a short period of time until the partizans came to the area it was under Albanian occupation where Christians could not even leave their homes? This also counts for what is today western Macedonia.
