The explosion, which occurred around 11:00 p.m. Saturday, damaged four vehicles in the eastern town of Gnjilane, 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of the capital, Pristina.

One of the cars belongs to Aferdita Syla, an official in the deputy prime minister's office, said local police spokesman Naser Ibrahimi.

On Friday, a bomb placed under the car of Kosovo's interior minister exploded a few hours before Serbian and ethnic Albanian officials met in Vienna, Austria, for another round of talks in the U.N.-mediated negotiations over Kosovo's future status.

Kosovo's parliament speaker said he considered oth explosions to be directed against the talks, which could result in Kosovo's independence from Serbia.
