Brussels, Dec 14 (CTK) - Slovakia will not be willing to recognise Kosovo
if it declares its independence unilaterally, Slovak PM Robert Fico (Smer-Social
Democracy) told journalists after the EU summit in Brussels today.
The summit's conclusion that the solution to the future status of the
Serbian province of Kosovo, whatever it is like, will not become a precedence
for solving similar crises in the world is a "great victory," Fico said.
This conclusion is important not only for Slovakia but also for other
countries where nations and ethnic minorities live together, Fico said.
Fico also said the integration of Serbia into Europe cannot be linked
with the question of Kosovo, no matter what attitude Serbia will take towards
the solution of Kosovo's status.
"The future of Serbia in the EU cannot be conditioned by anything that
concerns Kosovo," Fico said. |
