TORONTO, March 18 /CNW/ - "Canada has always been known to be a world
leader in Human Rights advocacy and protection and I want to thank and
congratulate PM Stephen Harper for renewing Canada's image as such on the
world stage, by recognizing Kosova; definitely a right thing to do," said
filmmaker Roger Nair.
"On behalf of all Albanian-Canadians we would like to thank the Canadian
government for answering our requests and recognizing the new country Kosova,"
said Albert Xhaferri.
Albert Xhaferri and Roger Nair were the speakers and event co-organizers
of the rally in support of the proclamation for independence for Kosova
that took place in Queen's Park on Sunday February 17, 2008 and quickly
became the biggest rally in North America with thousands and thousands
in presence.
