March 25, 2008

FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) is considering acquiring a production facility in Serbia, Handelsblatt reported in an article ahead of publication Wednesday.

According to the report, a delegation from VW visited the state-owned Zastava Automobili production facility, located some 130 kilometers southeast of Belgrade, shortly before Easter.

A VW spokesman confirmed to Dow Jones Newswires that a delegation was at the Zastava plant before Easter on an information-gathering visit, without providing further details.
