Charges increased in New York bar brawl July 3, 2008 3:15 AM ET BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - 2 of 3 men charged with beating a Binghamton University student were sent back to jail yesterday pending another bail hearing. Sanel Softic of Binghamton and Edin Dzubur are charged with beating Bryan Steinhauer outside a Binghamton bar. The 22-year-old New York City has been in a coma ever since the May 4th incident. Softic and Dzubur were previously free on bail after being charged with second-degree assault. Those charged have now been upgraded to first-degree assault and gang assault. A third defendant in the case - Miladin Kovacevic - was also called for arraignment but failed to show up. He fled the country early last month, touching off an international dispute with the Serbian government. The FBI and Interpol have issued warrants for his arrest.
