July 23, 2008 4:23 PM

BUDAPEST, Jul 23, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX News Network) -- All Hungarian parliamentary parties have expressed support for Hungary's continued involvement in Afghanistan's reconstruction following the recent deaths of two Hungarian soldiers in the war-torn country, Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekere said here on Wednesday.

Hungarian Parliament's Defense Committee discussed the Defense Ministry's report on two Hungarian soldiers' deaths in Afghanistan.

Lieutenant Gyula Kovacs and Captain Krisztian Nemes died recently while trying to defuse home made explosive devices in Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. Both were entrapped, and became targets of terrorists, the report said.

The Hungarian Armed Forces is operating a Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in Baghlan Province. The construction team, consisting of 250 soldiers, has been working in Baghlan since 2006. The team includes nine explosives experts.
