Daughter of Croatian lawyer killed in her home

October 06, 2008 9:05 AM

ZAGREB, Croatia-Police say a Croatian lawyer's daughter has been killed in the hallway of her home in the capital.

Zagreb police deputy chief Dubravko Novak says the killing Monday is under investigation.

Local media have speculated Ivana Hodak's death may be linked to her father's work, but police refused to say if they have evidence of such a link.

The 25-year-old woman's father Zvonimir Hodak has been representing a former Defense Ministry official Gen. Vladimir Zagorec suspected of embezzling US$5 million in jewels used in wartime arms deals.
