Serbia reinstates ambassadors to US October 09, 2008 1:06 PM BELGRADE, Serbia-Serbia has reinstated its ambassadors to the United States and other Western countries that have recognized Kosovo's independence. The pro-Western government says in a statement Thursday that the ambassadors were reposted because of Serbia's "continued diplomatic activity to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty." The ambassadors had been withdrawn after the U.S. and other Western countries recognized Kosovo's independence in February. In July, Serbian ambassadors were returned to 22 European Union nations that recognized Kosovo, but not to the U.S. and several other countries including Japan, Canada or Australia.
