Kosovo organ clinic connected to kidnapping of Serbs November 17, 2008 Source: Politika, Belgrade Serbian War Crimes Prosecution remains with the stand that the case of illegal transplantations of human organs at the Medicus clinic in Pristina is linked to the investigation conducted by the prosecution regarding the trafficking with human organs of Serbs during the war in Kosovo. Even though UNMIK stated that this service would deal only with the recent case of the arrest of those suspected for illegal transplantation of organs at the Pristina clinic, the spokesperson of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecution Bruno Vekaric told Politika that two investigations would be conducted towards investigating both linked cases. “The same people are mentioned as participants in the illegal transplantation in the investigations conducted both in Belgrade and in Pristina. We expect an answer as to why we were not informed that the evidence is from the so-called ‘yellow house’ in Orahovac. I remind that the head of the UNMIK war crime unit Irving Moyse called the deputy war crime prosecutor Dragoljub Stankovic to help in the investigation, which is confirmation that the Medicus case in linked to our subject,” says Vekaric. UNMIK’s invitation was a response to the request of the prosecution for that police to provide a morgue in Orahovac, as it is assumed that it contains evidence important for the investigation on trafficking with organs of Kosovo Serbs during and after the war in 1999.
